When you enter the boat and are in the room before the next stage, there is a vase. Next to that is a glass. If you shoot the glass you will get an extra life.

Shoot 20 people in a row in easy mode or 30 in a row in normal mode to receive an extra life.
In area 2 in level 1, the last scene, shoot the green gas tanks behind the shield man. The scene will be finished easily.
In area 2 in level 1, do not shoot the yellow canisters behind the man with the shield. Instead, aim for the green barrel on the right. If you shoot it, you will get an extra life.
In area 1 in level 4, after you enter the room where you have to fight the chef, there are pots and pans in the upper part of the screen. Shoot the middle shelf, the pan on the left will give you an extra life.
Duck during red bullets. Those bullets will hit you and take away a life.
